Two long beaches lie on either side of the point, while the third, Cadet Beach, is a 100 m long, reef dominated extension of Ticonderoga Bay. The three beaches face north and usually receive only low wind waves, which build narrow, steep beaches fronted by subtidal flats that narrow toward the point, where tidal currents intensify.
