The north-east corner of Magnetic Island consists of granite hills rising nearly 200 m and a number of small bays and embayed beaches. The first five bays house four sandy beaches; Balding, Radical, Florence and Arthur Bays, while Balding, Radical and Florence Bays are also marine parks. Arthur Bay (MT4) is a small, 150 m long bay containing the beach, a small fringing reef and granite headlands. The road to Radical Bay runs across the slopes behind the beach and there is a single house overlooking the southern end of the south-east facing bay. The beach is 20 m wide at high tide, widening to 50 m at low tide.
