Beach Q 14 is 3.1 km long and bordered by the larger Cliffdale Creek in the east and the smaller boundary creek to the west. The two creeks combine to deposit extensive sand flats off the beach, resulting in very low energy conditions at the shore. It is backed by a 100-500 m wide low barrier, then a 1-2 km wide inner beach ridge barrier, then 4 km wide salt flats.
