To the south of Green Mound is 5 km of rock-dominated shore backed by steep bluffs rising to 50 m. Two beaches occupy the first kilometre (Fig. 4.89). The first is Oxleys Beach (NSW 162), an exposed 250 m long rock-strewn beach, located between Green Mound and a southern rocky section. It is exposed to waves averaging 1.5 m, which maintain three permanent rips against the two headlands and some central rocks. A small creek drains across the centre of the beach with its small gully crossed by a footbridge. The beach is backed by bluffs rising to the Port Macquarie sports ground and a clifftop park.
Beach Length: 0.25km
General Hazard Rating: 7/10
